Expanding surgical capacity while maintaining efficiency and infection control
Developed in collaboration with Catfoss Group Manufacturing, this state-of-the-art surgical facility enhances capacity, efficiency, and infection control
The Robert Jones Theatre project is a strategic, phased development designed to enhance orthopedic surgical capacity while ensuring optimal patient and staff flow, infection control, and efficiency. Originally envisioned as a full-scale surgical hub with four operating theatres and ward accommodation, the project is being delivered in phases to manage financial constraints while still achieving high clinical standards.
Phase 2 (Completed 2024): Two state-of-the-art orthopedic theatres on the first floor, supported by ancillary accommodation, providing immediate surgical capacity expansion. The ground floor remains an empty shell, prepared for future development.
Phase 3 (Planned in 18 months): The completion of the remaining two operating theatres and ward accommodation, further enhancing surgical throughput and patient care.
Designed to meet NHS Trust specifications, the theatre complex incorporates high-quality interior finishes, strict infection control measures, and an efficient layout that optimizes staff workflows and patient experience. This phased delivery model ensures a progressive, cost-effective expansion while maintaining the highest standards of healthcare functionality and comfort.
